Some People Will Say He’s Eccentric, But He Lives In Freedom Like You Can Only Imagine
Did you ever grow up reading Walden, and wondering if it was possible to leave home, or even the trappings of civilization? Some people can live completely on their own, and this man proves you can even flaunt that freedom.
Straight out of the Ukraine, Slavik is a master of his fate. He is apparently homeless, but has a wardrobe stashed in an undisclosed location, made of clothes he’s picked out from trash bins, as well as homeless aid centers. Slavik cares enough to restyle his hair and beard, and shave his armpits with every wardrobe change.
Slavik would have barely been a blip in the world’s radar, until he was discovered by photographer Yurko Dyachsyhn. Yurko took photos of Slavik at his Sunday best, for a 100 picture exhibit, and then Slavik fell out of Yurko’s purview in January 2013.
We don’t know where Slavik is today, but he probably ran off to hide from public view, because that’s what he wanted to do.
