A Female Patient’s Final Request For Her Dog Will Break Your Heart.

Sometimes, a person’s request goes unheeded. That’s just the way of the world… you don’t get everything you want. But some requests should require much more consideration than others.

Just a month ago, the Stray Rescue of St. Louis received a letter from a woman pleading for help. She had cancer and she was dying, and actually said in the letter that if they were reading it, she was already gone.

Her request was that the rescue center would find a loving home for her dog Shell, an animal that she loved so much that she considered her as a daughter.

The letter to the center to find Shell a good home was this woman’s last request. Shell was at the center October 1st. The executive director’s post about her read: “She is scared, but we will shower her with so much love. If someone has been lonely and would like to give Shell a home, with plenty of patience and understanding, please fill out an application.”

That post was shared nearly 2,000 times, and just three days later, on October 4th, after processing several dozen applications, Shell found her forever home.
