A week before her first birthday, an Arizona girl dies in her mother’s arms.

Anissa Machado was just 19 years old when she gave birth to her daughter, Milani Yasmine. The single mother had every intention of filling her young girl’s life with endless joy, yet destiny had other intentions.

Yasmine was diagnosed with Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome soon after her birth, and physicians discovered that she was born with a cardiac abnormality. Yasmine’s life would be difficult due to her various medical issues.

While Machado’s life was turned upside down by the unexpected news, she didn’t let it stop her from being a caring mother. The young mother went out of her way to make her baby feel at ease.

Yasmine was detained in the NICU at her Tuscon, Arizona, hospital for months before being transferred to the CVICU at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. However, Machado made certain that Yasmine did not feel frightened in the hospital rooms.

Little Yasmine couldn’t enjoy the sun or view the stars in the night sky since she had to stay in the hospital for days at a time. Machado didn’t let it bother her daughter. Rather, she adorned the walls to give her daughter the impression that she was in another location.

Yasmine was ten months old when doctors told her she required open-heart surgery. Machado certainly felt terrified at the prospect of putting her daughter under the knife, but she followed the doctors’ orders.

Yasmine had the surgery on August 11, 2022, and the physicians released her a few days later. She nevertheless required regular special care, such as a feeding tube, oxygen, and daily medications.

Machado’s younger sister Bianca joined in with her as it was tough for her to care for her daughter and manage her company at the same time. Bianca, 18, had many dreams and objectives, but she didn’t care about anything when it came to her niece.

Bianca looked after Yasmine while Machado conducted her eyelash business. She had begun her business when she was 16, and it was now assisting her in covering her daughter’s medical expenditures. Amanda Rodriguez, Machado’s aunt, stated Machado was overjoyed to be chosen as Milani’s mother.

She loved being a parent and Milani above anything, Rodriguez continued. Machado worked tirelessly all hours of the day and night to guarantee her baby’s needs were satisfied. She was, unfortunately, oblivious of fate’s terrible designs to separate her from Yasmine.

Machado and her family were counting down the days before their darling baby’s first birthday. On October 19, the young girl would have become a year old, but something terrible occurred before her big day.

On October 13, Machado’s life came crumbling down as her baby’s health abruptly worsened. When tiny Yasmine died in Machado’s arms, the mom saw the most horrible moment of her life.

Even though every day was terrifying, every minute was so lovely with her as she absolutely radiated love and tranquility no matter what, the distraught mom said in a Facebook post. She continued, saying, there was anarchy within her, yet she was the most serene and loving baby.

Machado never desired to leave her daughter, but she felt powerless due to fate’s intentions. Despite the fact that Yasmine was only in this world for a brief duration, she brightened her mother’s life with love and happiness and provided Machado with memories she would remember for the rest of her life.

Machado posted her story on Facebook, urging other parents to spend as much time as possible with their children. She requested that they read books to their kids and take photographs with them. At the end of her lengthy Facebook message, the mother stated tears are streaming.

Milani taught SO many people new things every single day. I hope this could be some teachings extended to you guys. TO…

She cried emotional when writing about her newborn child, saying she was glad Yasmine decided to live with her. There aren’t enough words to describe this agony, the grieving mother added.

My baby…. It’s too hard at the moment to write out how I feel. There’s not enough words to explain this pain….

Rodriguez set up a GoFundMe campaign to assist Machado with the costs of her newborn girl. It broke her heart to see her niece preparing for Yasmine’s burial rather than her first birthday.

As of October 19, 46 donations had raised more than $2,700 of the $5,000 goal. Individuals also posted supportive words in the comments area.

Netizens were astonished to hear about Yasmine’s unexpected death, in addition to friends and relatives.

No mother should have to go through what Machado did. Our hearts go out to Machado and her family as they struggle with the devastation of this event.
