Ashton Kutcher has quietly saved over 6,000 children from sex trafficking – he’s a real life hero

Say what you want about Ashton Kutcher as an actor, but he’s also shown to be a kind human being with an incredible will.

For those who are unaware, Kutcher has been fighting human trafficking for several years, protecting the lives of at least 6,000 individuals, according to sources.

Kutcher and his ex-wife Demi Moore co-founded Thorn: Digital Defenders of Children in 2012, a nonprofit dedicated to finding and saving victims of child sex trafficking.

What started as a fantasy of giving individuals who had no voice has grown over time into a force making real headway against one of society’s most shocking and genuinely vile factors: trafficking.

According to a 2017 study, Kutcher and Moore’s initiative assisted in the identification of 5,984 child sex trafficking victims, as well as the rescue of 103 kids from “circumstances where their sexual assault was videotaped and shared.”

The nonprofit organisation works to develop technology that may be used to protect innocent kids from sexual predators; currently, full-time teams of employees and contractors from over 21 states are working on the project. According to reports, Thorn was able to detect and apprehend 6,608 criminals.

Kutcher explained in an interview that at their heart, they design technologies to assist prevent child sexual exploitation. One can roll up their sleeves and go save one person like a hero, or one can design a tool that enables one individual to save many others.

Kutcher himself delivered a speech in 2017 pushing Congress to take a more active role in helping vulnerable women and children throughout the world.

He explained that he is here to protect the freedom to pursue happiness. It’s a basic concept: the right to pursue pleasure.

The constitution bestows it on all of them. Every American citizen has the freedom to seek it. And he believes it is the responsibility as citizens of this country, as Americans, to impart that right on others, on each other, and on the rest of the globe. But for many people, the right to pursue happiness is violated, exploited, or seized by force, deception, or compulsion. It is traded for the temporary pleasure of another.

Definitely we can all agree that this is a very noble cause worth fighting for. Nonetheless, Kutcher has received insults and abuse from cowardly internet trolls hiding behind computer screens, asking him to “stick to his day job.”

The 42-year-old actor, who has a small child with wife Mila Kunis, had a simple, albeit dismissive reaction for them: he has seen video evidence of a child his age being raped by an American sex tourist in Cambodia, and this youngster was so conditioned by her surroundings that she felt she was engaged in play, he claimed.

He has been on the other end of a phone call from his team, asking for his assistance because they had got a phone call from the Department of Homeland Security, telling them that a 7-year-old girl was being sexually abused and that material was being spread around the dark web and she had been abused and they’d watched her for three years, and they couldn’t find the offender, asking for assistance, he continued.

They were the final line of defense—an actor and his foundation might have been the last line of defence. That is his day job, and he intends to keep it.

Ashton Kutcher, you are amazing. We can’t thank you enough for your efforts. Let’s really hope to live in a society where individuals aren’t used and preyed upon to satisfy the evil whims of a few.

I hope Thorn’s incredible work continues to save lives and find culprits who should be imprisoned.
