Red pandas aren’t as well known as giant pandas, but they are also at risk of extinction. A surprise hero came in to help. That surprise hero is a Dutch housecat, who agreed to nurse two red panda babies after they were rejected by their mother. They were originally kept in an incubator, but after the cat gave birth to four kittens, their caretakers saw an opportunity for them to feed naturally.
As a happy coincidence, cat’s milk has all the nutrients needed to feed red pandas, so this was just what these two cute little panda cubs needed.
