In October, Barbara Corcoran of ABC’s Shark Tank appeared on an edition of The View. And, to be frank, nobody knows what she was there to discuss, since what everybody is talking about now is the offensive remark she made.
Barbara and her Shark Tank co hosts were there to talk about their new guest host, Emma Grede, CEO of the Good American apparel line. Things became strange when they started chatting about a pair of pants. Whoopi Goldberg showed interest in the jeans and inquired whether they were available in her size. Barbara took advantage of the situation to make a crude, disrespectful remark at Whoopi’s expense.
“When you get finished with those jeans and decide you don’t like them, give them to me. I’m gonna make two pairs,” Barbara said, laughing. Whoopi’s face immediately plummeted. She was definitely embarrassed, and the crowd booed the awful joke as well.
The WTF moment visibly disturbed all of the cohosts. Not only did Whoopi appear upset, but Ana Navarro was as well. She was eager to defend Whoopi, striking back at Barbara.
“Wait, wait, wait. Whoopi, let me just tell you something,” Ana chimed in that Sara Haines and Jill Biden both wore the outfit on television. The co host was referring to Barbara’s flowery outfit.
Ana was clearly not in on the prank. But, truly, what was Barb thinking when she made that remark? Don’t come looking for Whoopi! Not even on her own program.
That was unprofessional for a business professional, Barb.
Barbara subsequently apologized for her remark, however the entire exchange was cringe-worthy to witness.
Barb said in a video posted on Twitter that she just returned from ‘The View,’ where she ran into an old friend, Whoopi Goldberg. She has known Whoopi for years, and she has a fantastic sense of humor.
She made a joke about Whoopi that she now understands wasn’t humorous. She simply sincerely apologized to everyone who she may have accidentally upset.
