Bruce Willis looks amazing in new images released to Instagram by his wife, showcasing the first public photos of the Die Hard star since his retirement announcement.
Willis’ retirement came as a shock because he has been regularly working on films, including many future features that he has already finished filming and are presently in post-production. In a statement, his family said he was “moving aside” from Hollywood after being diagnosed with aphasia, a neurological illness that affects speech and communication abilities
The statement ran as follows: as a family, we wanted to communicate with Bruce’s fantastic supporters that our darling Bruce has been facing some health concerns and has just been diagnosed with aphasia, which is affecting his cognitive ability. As a result of this, and after careful contemplation, Bruce is leaving the career that has meant so much to him. This is a very difficult moment for our family, and we are grateful for your continuous love, sympathy, and support. We are dealing with this as a strong family unit, and we wanted to include his fans since we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.
Willis’ wife, Emma Heming Willis, has recently shared a pair of Instagram photographs of the two spending time outside together. She used the hashtag #offthegrid and captioned the photo, “Mom & Dad in their favorite environment.” The post below shows Willis with a wide smile on his face, certainly enjoying family time now that his acting days are behind.
When it was reported that the actor had retired, several of his prominent acquaintances shared their recollections of working with him. This includes Haley Joel Osment, a former child star who co-starred with Willis in M. Night Shyamalan’s breakthrough film The Sixth Sense. In a social media message, Osment expressed how much Willis has influenced him and how much he continues to appreciate him.
