Cop Discovered Him Scared And Shivering From The Cold.

This incident below shows a wonderful example of a caring, compassionate law enforcement individual. Kudos to the sheriff for going out of his way while doing his job.

This is Deputy Garrett Bird carrying six-year-old Oliver Ramirez home late last night. Oliver walked away from his home in the area of Military Drive and Tholl Road some time around 6:00 p.m.

For several hours WCSO Deputies, RPD Officers and neighbors searched for Oliver. Washoe County Search and Rescue as well as RAVEN were called in to help with the search.

Finally, around midnight, Deputy Bird and his trainee Deputy Oscar Tejeda were driving in the neighborhood calling out for Oliver on their unit’s PA system when little Oliver peeked out from underneath a vehicle. We don’t know how long he was under there, but he was scared and shivering from the cold.

Deputy Bird did what any other father would do — he comforted Oliver. He hugged him and held him all the way home.

There’s a tremendous sense of honor in being able to serve our community. And we couldn’t be happier with how this story turned out. #ProudSheriff
