Christmas is a wonderful time for families. But, unfortunately, there are some nasty people out there who like to ruin it for others, and here’s a story where police came to a Christmas rescue.
Some thieves snatched up the Christmas decorations being displayed by a family in Maryland. A week later, family members were all set to replace those yard decorations with other ones when officers with the Prince George County police did it for them.
David and Vanessa Surles had just returned home and found their yard filled with more Christmas decorations.
Says David: “Our neighbors were calling on the phone trying to warn us that people were in our yard after the other night. It just so happened that these guys weren’t taking anything. They were bringing a blessing. Not only for us, but for our neighborhood, for our grandkids and we had so many passersby… just slow down to look at the new decorations, and they said they were with us.”
Some kind officers with the department did not want the family to go without decorations, even though there was a Grinch out and about.

Says police department spokesperson Jennifer Donelan: “They did this out of the goodness of their hearts, so we will respect their wishes to remain anonymous. We won’t tell the world who they are, but we will tell the world how proud we are of them and of their huge hearts!”
Adds David: “God bless all of you all. You touched us and our family tremendously. So I love you. I love you. God bless all of you and Merry Christmas.”
