In Bryam, Mississippi, 5-year-old TyLon Pittman called 911 to let police know there was a thief about to take his Christmas presents. Well, the police had Officer Lauren Develle respond to that call right away. Turns out, that thief TyLon was talking about… was… the Grinch.
The young boy had been watching Grinch movies and videos of him online and was just CONVINCED that his Christmas was in jeopardy… and he wanted police there to make sure that nasty green Grinch would not be able to get his hands on his Christmas presents.
Well, Officer Develle was quite taken aback by that; and so was TyLon’s mom when she found the police officer at her door saying the young boy had called in about a thief.

Officer Develle asked TyLon what he would do if the Grinch showed up and actually tried to steal his presents. And TyLon replied he wanted her to come back and take him to jail. TyLon said he would wrestle him to the floor and hold him there until police arrived.
Says TyLon: “I’m going to say put your hands behind your back and get down on the ground, then when he gets on the ground, I’m gonna say, ‘Why are you stealing Christmas?”

But the officer kindly and patiently told young TyLon that she could assure him that the Grinch would not steal his Christmas. She also told TyLon that when she was younger, her dad would always wear Grinch pants on Christmas morning, adding: “Growing up seeing the Grinch every Christmas was my favorite thing.”
