Custom Designer Donates 19 Caskets to Uvalde Victims

A Texas artisan is offering personalized caskets to victims of last week’s tragic shooting at a Uvalde primary school.

Shortly after the massacre, Trey Ganem, the owner of bespoke casket manufacturer SoulShine Industries, shifted his focus to assisting the victims’ families. The shooting killed 19 kids and two teachers, rallying the nation and reigniting the debate over gun control.

“I’m on my way to aid families at this awful moment,” says a message on the company’s Facebook page mere hours after the incident.

“I was asked to assist with the caskets and speak with the families.” This is something that no family should ever have to go through. “My love and feelings are already there,” the post stated.

Ganem’s firm is situated in Edna, Texas, which is about 200 miles from Uvalde. Ganem expressed that they are making the final thing a parent can do for their kid. And they are doing it with zeal and determination. They poured their hearts and souls into this.

Tributes have been coming in as the tiny Texas community and the nation mourn the loss of the bloodiest gun massacre in the country since the Sandy Hook Elementary School murder in Newtown, Conn., in 2012.

On Sunday, President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden paid a visit to Uvalde, where they were greeted by Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and his wife, Cecilia Abbott. They paid a visit to a monument built outside Robb Elementary School, where the Bidens laid a bouquet of flowers and clasped hands with the superintendent and principal.

The president and first lady also visited with relatives of the victims and survivors of the Uvalde mass shooting before holding a separate meeting with first responders. The Bidens also attended service at Uvalde’s Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

On Tuesday, leading Texas news organizations celebrated 21 minutes of quiet on social media to memorialize the 21 lives lost in Uvalde.

As of Monday, six gunshot survivors were still hospitalized.
