Dad Learns About Daughter’s Abusive BF, Puts A Bounty On His Head.

Chelsea Simmons was violently abused by her boyfriend, Cedric Powe, in Missouri, forcing her to lose sight in her left eye permanently. In reply, the young woman’s dad offered a $500 reward to anybody who had knowledge on the suspect’s location.

Chelsea was almost murdered after a fight with her boyfriend. She had obtained a restraining order against Powe, but it did little to safeguard the young woman from her assailant, who had a history of breaking protective orders.

According to doctors, Chelsea Simmons was just minutes away from death and would most likely be in agony for the rest of her life as a result of the occurrence. Basically he strangled her till she blacked out, pulled her back, strangled her again, and repeatedly stomped on her head, Chelsea’s stepmother, Melissa Zack, stated. She’s terrified, and she probably will be for the rest of her life. Meanwhile, Cedric Powe, also known as Moe to his buddies, went to the south side of St. Louis after inflicting the horrific assault.

Chelsea’s dad, Mark Zack, offered $500 to anybody who can supply cops with evidence that might assist them in apprehending her assailant. He has to be found so that this doesn’t occur to anybody else, and so that she doesn’t have to fear it occurring to her again, Melissa Zack said.

Cedric Powe has a significant criminal record, such as an arrest in 2008 for domestic assault and obstruction of justice. The defendant pled guilty to obstruction of justice and was sentenced to one year in jail, however the domestic violence allegation against him was dropped as a result of his guilty plea. He then proceeded to thrash Chelsea Simmons to a bloody pulp.

Mark Zack’s reward looks to have worked. Cedric Powe was apprehended by the police in St. Louis. In connection with the beating of Chelsea Simmons, he was accused of attempting first-degree murder, aggravated violence, and aggravated domestic abuse. The bond was set at $500,000.00.

The warrant accuses Powe with taking a significant step toward first-degree murder or causing grievous bodily damage by strangling Chelsea. The attempted strangulation of Chelsea is also the basis for the aggravated domestic battery prosecution. Powe is accused of striking and kicking Chelsea, according to the aggravated battery complaint.

According to facts in an order of protection obtained by Chelsea Simmons the day after the incident, Cedric Powe beat her close to death, causing her lifelong blindness in her left eye. The protection order also describes other claimed instances of violence, such as a previous beating and kidnapping in which Powe reportedly contacted Chelsea’s family and demanded money in exchange for her release.

Powe was sent to Illinois to face the accusations, and he was eventually sentenced to 14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Powe pled guilty to Class 2 aggravated domestic violence with strangulation in return for dismissal of Class 3 aggravated battery resulting in serious bodily injury and Class X intended murder charges.

Powe must spend four years of mandatory supervised release, often referred as parole, and pay $1,352.60 in restitution in addition to his 14-year prison term. It seemed to be a minor price to pay given the gravity of his act.
