While filming Viva Las Vegas in 1964, Elvis Presley had an affair with his co-star Ann-Margret.
In an interview, Ann-Margret, 80, discussed her time on set with Elvis. Ann-Margret stated that the two stars’ mutual interests pulled them closer.
Elvis was married to Priscilla Presley at the time. Nonetheless, Elvis and Ann-Margret dated for almost a year before Priscilla discovered the affair. Ann-Margret recalls warmly about her time with Elvis, and she makes no apologies for it.
Ann-Margret acknowledged an immediate attraction between Elvis and herself in her 1994 book, My Story. Although both performers were brilliant in singing, dancing, and acting, Ann-Margret said that she and Elvis had comparable “devil.” Even staff members on site couldn’t deny their fascination. Ann-Margret stated they were calm, courteous, and cautious. But she had a feeling something bad was likely to occur once they got to know each other. Elvis did as well.
Despite Ann-affinity Margret’s for Elvis, the Swedish-American actress has only seen the film Viva Las Vegas once.
