Employee Gets Recognition For Feeding The Disabled Customer.

Arturo Ramirez is a regular at the Chick-fil-A in La Palmera, Texas. He’s disabled and he usually dines alone. But one particular day, 19-year-old Ashley Gusman, an employee at the restaurant, sat with Arturo and helped him as much as she could.

Says Ashley: “Usually, we help him around and get his food, but that day I helped him. I got him his food and I went around and I sat with him.”

Fellow diners noticed her deed and one even took a photo of it and posted it on Facebook.

That photo was taken by Jessica Gomez, who wrote this to go along with her picture: “I’ve seen this man several times here by himself. The times I’ve been here everyone just leaves him. But she cut his food into pieces and went back several times to get him whatever he needed. May God bless this woman.”

Jessica’s post has been shared several hundred times. Ashley says she wasn’t helping Arturo for any attention and was shocked that the photo of her doing so was going viral.

While eating at the mall with my family I saw this lovely girl help this man out. I've seen this man several times here…

Says Ashley: “I really was surprised when I saw [the Facebook post] and I didn’t know what to think at first, and I was really nervous because all these people were seeing it. And you know, out of everybody, why was it me?”

But Jessica felt Ashley’s gesture was truly inspirational, saying: “I thought it was an amazing act of kindness. I’ve never seen anyone help this gentleman out before.”

Ashley says that when she finishes school, she wants to someday become a caregiver for seniors and people in hospice.
