Entire Class Is Speechless By Their Teacher’s Gift.
Teachers are typically talented for being… teachers. It’s quite something else when they show you a talent you would never have thought of. And, especially, when that teacher makes it something very personal for you.
When English teacher Roselyn Barcoma’s students returned to class after Christmas break, they found something very interesting on each of their desks. On each desk was a penciled portrait of that student.
Roselyn, who teaches grades 6 through 9 at Holy Redeemer School of Cabuyao in the Philippines, had secretly been sketching all of her students throughout the month of December. When all of her students found their portraits, they were amazed… speechless at first and then thanking their very talented teacher.
Says Roselyn: “Drawing has been my hobby since I was a kid. My childhood dream was to be a comic illustrator because I thought it would be nice for my works to be admired by a lot of people.”
Roselyn, who is known for being a very strict teacher but one who can also crack jokes and lead her students in the right direction, said she wanted to sketch all of her students to give them something nice and very personalized.
Says 15-year-old Michael Rei Arganosa, one of the many students she sketched: “It was a very unique gift not only because it was personally made by Ms. Rose for us but it will also serve as a memory for all the effort she has made for us.”
Adds Roselyn: “When I saw their smiles, it was worth the effort.”
Roselyn’s sketching work has been shared on Facebook more than 10,000 times.
