Ex-TMZ reporter is lauded as a ‘hero’ for ‘savage’ retort to Amber Heard’s lawyer

An ex-TMZ reporter’s caustic retort to Amber Heard’s lawyers has gone viral, after she criticized him of taking the stand for “15 minutes of fame,” only for him to smack her in the face.

Social media fans are rallying around TMZ’s former field assignment manager Morgan Tremaine for mocking Heard’s attorney Elaine Bredehoft during the actress’ $100 defamation suit against ex-husband Johnny Depp, 58, after the attorney claimed that he was merely testifying for publicity.

Depp’s lawyers invited the reporter to appear in court on Wednesday, and he described a series of images taken by Heard’s gossip site in 2016.

The photos in question showed Heard leaving court with what looked to be a scar on her face after seeking a protection order against Depp.

And, as per Tremaine, they were informed about the picture opportunity, but he did not identify who provided them the information.

During her cross-examination, Bredehoft accused Tremaine of speaking out in order to obtain ‘celebrity,’ but he swiftly debunked those rumors, noting that by taking the stand, he was really making himself a ‘subject,’ and declaring, ‘I get nothing from this.’

People online have dubbed the former TMZ staffer a ‘king’ and the’mother f**king MVP’ after he retaliated against the lawyer, telling her that he could ‘say the same thing’ about her taking Heard, 35, as a client.

During her cross questioning, Bredehoft asked Tremaine whether he is aware that this case is being aired? He replied he is aware there are cameras.

To which she asked if this earns him his 15 minutes of fame, doesn’t it?

Although Depp’s attorney opposed her question, the court disregarded it, forcing Tremaine to rephrase Bredehoft’s query.

He responded he has nothing to gain from this. He is  genuinely placing himself in the crosshairs of TMZ, a notoriously litigious outfit, and he is not looking for 15 minutes of fame here. However, she is free to conjecture. He further added that he can say the same thing for her by having Amber Heard as a client.

‘Don’t you think he’s a bit argumentative?’ Bredehoft was taken aback and asked him. Tremaine remarked, oh barely, he thinks that entirely rational.

Depp’s attorneys looked to be amused by his remark, and they burst out laughing. As his legal team laughed at the back and forth, Depp let out a little smile.

A video of the audacious shut down was instantly shared on Twitter, where it promptly went viral, and the internet couldn’t get enough of Tremaine’s “savage burn.”

Depp and Heard have been fighting in court in recent weeks. They wedded in 2015 and were wedded for one year until Heard filed for divorce in 2016.

The trial, which is currently ongoing in Virginia, is aiming to decide if Heard’s 2018 Washington Post column, in which she blamed Depp of domestic violence, defamed Depp.

During his evidence, Tremaine informed the court that the source was tipped off when they photographed Heard heading to court in Los Angeles, California, in May 2016 and that it was believed she would ‘show the scar’ caused by her ex.

He explained, the goal was to record her exiting the courthouse, and she was going to stop, turn to the camera, and exhibit the scar.

While Tremaine did not divulge the source of the information, he did say that it came from a news producer, which implies that it was validated.

Heard stated that she was taken aback when she saw cameras outside the court after a judge granted her a protection order against Depp.

Johnny Depp Trashes the Kitchen in Video Recorded by Amber Heard

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial: Johnny “smashes” kitchen cabinets in old video recorded by Amber.

Earlier, the court heard allegations that Heard’s team released the footage of Depp trashing up his kitchen to TMZ.

While Tremaine would not corroborate this, he did say that the video supplied to TMZ was shorter than the one shown to the jury, which indicated that it had been manipulated.

The moment when Heard was ‘sniggering at the camera’ was taken out of the video TMZ got from its anonymous tip line, according to Tremaine.

Depp and Heard initially met on the production of The Rum Diary in 2009. They began dating in 2012, were engaged in 2014, and married a year later. Heard filed for divorce in 2016, and the divorce was completed in 2017.

Then, in 2018, Heard revealed a series of bombshell charges against Depp while penning for the Washington Post about being a victim of domestic abuse.

Despite the fact that she never addressed Depp by name, Depp’s lawyer Benjamin Chew stated that Heard was clearly referring to the actor during the trial.

Depp was accused of hitting the American actress three times in 2013, after she joked at his infamous ‘Wino Forever’ tattoo, and of beating her in a cocaine and alcohol-fueled rage over claims she cheated on him with James Franco.

Depp has always disputed Heard’s accusations, and he is demanding at least $50 million in compensatory damages and at least $350,000 in punitive damages, as well as attorneys’ fees and court costs.

Depp testified in court last month that Heard was the one who turned aggressive when their relationship collapsed.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star said that the pair fought frequently, with Heard using ‘derogatory name calling’ and tormenting him.

He also claimed that his ex hurled a bottle of vodka at him during a fight that erupted after he requested her to sign a prenup in 2015, causing his middle finger to be severed.

Heard is suing Depp for $100 million in damages, claiming that his legal team unjustly blamed her of inventing the charges against him.

Attorneys for Heard have contended that she stated the truth in her post and that her viewpoint was permitted as free speech under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
