Father Of Missing 7 Year Old Harmony Montgomery Arrested.

Harmony Montgomery remains missing but her father is now behind bars. Adam Montgomery, the father of the 7 year old New Hampshire girl was arrested late Tuesday on one charge of crime second-degree assault for a 2019 incident involving Harmony, one misdemeanour charge of interference with custody and two misdemeanour charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

Adam Montgomery, 31, was due to appear in court but the public hearing was waived.

The attorney general’s office provided no other details but said the search for Harmony is still on-going.

According to an arrest document released, Harmony’s mother, Crystal Sorey, called the Manchester Police Department on Nov. 18 to report that she hadn’t seen her daughter in six months. Harmony, she said, was in the custody of her father after Crystal lost custody in July 2018 due to her substance abuse issues. Crystal told to police that she had last seen Harmony on video chat around Easter 2019 and that the young girl seemed frightened.

On Dec. 27, The New Hampshire Division of Children, Youth and Families stated that they had been not capable to trace Harmony.

Efforts by Manchester detectives to contact Adam unsuccessful but officers were able to get in touch with his brother, Michael Montgomery, who alleged Adam of being physically abusive toward Harmony. Adam’s uncle, Kevin Montgomery, told police that he had seen Harmony with a black eye and claimed Adam had told him that he attacked her when he caught her trying to get her younger brother to stop crying while she was showering him.

Kevin Montgomery also said he’d observed other abuse, including spanking, forcing her to scrub the toilet with her toothbrush and leaving her standing in the corner for hours.

Police finally chased Adam Montgomery down on New Year’s Eve while he was sleeping in his car with his girlfriend in Manchester. That’s when he made conflicting declarations about Harmony’s well-being, including when he had last seen her.

Adam did not exhibit much emotion or reaction when he was asked that Harmony had not been physically observed in over two years and that Police had concern for whether or not she was alive. According to officials, Adam eventually stopped responding to any questions.

Police Chief Allen Aldenberg said at a press conference to help them find Harmony. He said that he cannot stress this enough and someone out there knows something.

It’s still uncertain why Harmony was not told missing for two years. Harmony is listed at 4 feet tall, weighing about 50 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. She is blind in her right eye and should be wearing eyeglasses.
