Georgia Quarterback Stetson Bennett Detained On Charges Of Public Intoxication.

Stetson Bennett, the Georgia quarterback who led the Bulldogs to back-to-back national titles and became one of college football’s best stories, was arrested on Sunday morning.

Bennett was arrested for public intoxication around 6 a.m. local time in Dallas, according to police, who confirmed the arrest to Fox News Digital. Officers went to a report of a man “banging on doors,” and it was found that Bennett was inebriated.

Bennett, 25, was brought to the City Detention Center, according to police. It is unknown if he was released.

The Bulldogs’ quarterback became a hero after leading the team to a rout of TCU in the national championship earlier this month. Georgia coach Kirby Smart gave Bennett a standing ovation in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs led 52-7.

He finished his undergraduate career with two national championships. During his undergraduate career, he also amassed 8,428 throwing yards and 66 touchdown passes.
