Girl, seven, is crushed to death by 440lb marble statue while on holiday with her parents

While on vacation with her family, a seven-year-old girl is trampled to death by a 440-pound marble statue.

On Friday, a seven-year-old Italian girl was crushed to death by a 440lb marble statue while on vacation in Germany with her parents.

Lavinia Trematerra of Naples, Italy, was playing in the hotel courtyard with a youngster when the unfixed statue tumbled from the pedestal it had been set on for roughly 20 years.

The fatal tragedy occurred on Friday about 7.30 p.m. in Munich, south-western Germany. According to stories, she was squashed by the statue in front of her dad.

Three hotel guests heard Lavinia’s screams and raced to her rescue, lifting the statue off her. Paramedics rushed on the scene in Munich’s Isarvorstadt area and attempted to revive the child before transporting her to a nearby hospital.

Unfortunately, Lavinia died from her terrible injuries approximately two hours later.

The statue weighed roughly 200 kilograms (441 lbs) and stood 1.4 metres (4ft 7in) tall, according to Munich Police, who have opened an inquiry.

The monument was placed on a concrete block 40 by 40 cm in size (1.3ft by 1.3ft).

She is and will always be their angel. Rest in peace, the love of their lives, her mother, lawyer Valentina Poggi, posted on social media only hours after the disaster.

Her dad, also a lawyer, Michele Trematerra, remarked, their life has altered.

Police are looking into the incident and will look into accusations that Lavinia climbed up the statue before it toppled on top of her.

On Friday, August 26, 2022, at around 7.30 p.m., a kid from Italy on holiday with her parents was in a courtyard of a Munich hotel, Munich police stated.

A stone statue weighing roughly 200kg tumbled down and gravely wounded the toddler for unknown reasons.

A cry alerted countless individuals to the situation, allowing them to liberate the youngster.  Then an emergency call was placed.

The youngster was transferred by ambulance to a Munich hospital, where she eventually died from her wounds, the Munich police agency reported.

On Sunday, a police official stated, according to the existing situation, they prefer to rule out deliberate activity.

The family was scheduled to depart Germany that day and travel home to Naples from Vienna, which is located over the German-Austrian border. An Italian news outlet demanded that those guilty for Lavinia’s death be held accountable.
