Healthy baby girl safely surrendered at Safe Haven baby box

In Hammond, Indiana, a healthy newborn girl was securely relinquished at a Safe Haven baby box.

A baby was securely and anonymously relinquished for the second time after the box was placed in 2019. The baby box is available at Franciscan Hospital, 5454 Hohman Ave., 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The baby box has climate control and a quiet alarm system that alerts first responders when a newborn is surrendered. This month, three infants were successfully delivered utilizing a baby box in the state of Indiana. Monica Kelsey, who was deserted as a newborn, developed Safe Haven Baby Boxes.
