Homeless Man Was Offered A Job When He Came For Change.

25-year-old Cesia Abigail opened her restaurant in Minneapolis in 2014. About a year later, a man walked in and asked her if she could spare some change. Now, typically, restaurant owners don’t take too kindly to people coming in off the streets asking for a handout. Instead however, she asked him a very pointed question: “Why don’t you have a job, you know nothing is given to me for free right?”

The scuffy-looking man put his head down, and then he explained why he had to ask for money. “I have a lot of felonies,” he told her. “…and no one wants to hire me for that, so now I had to turn myself to the streets and get money the only way I know… stealing and asking for money.”

Well, that was quite an upfront disclosure. Felonies… stealing… not the kind of thing businesses want to be associated with. But Cesia was willing to take that risk. She was short-staffed that day, and asked the man, named Marcus, if he wanted a job on the spot.

His eyes opened wide and a huge smile came across his face. He was thrilled, and said he would do anything for some food. So Marcus, that scruffy-looking guy with a checkered past, was put to work immediately in Cesia’s kitchen.

To get him started on his first day of work, Cesia gave him a sandwich, but instead of eating it all, he cut it in half and took half of it outside and gave it to a homeless woman. He does different jobs at the restaurant… dishes, cleaning up, taking out the trash. And with the money Cesia gives him, he buys the food from her restaurant, saying it makes him feel good to do so.

Says Cesia: Do something nice for someone today and don’t judge them just because they out there asking for money for we don’t know their situation… some deserve another shot. God gave me this blessing so why can’t I bless others?”
