When Chris Rock poked fun about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head at the 94th Academy Awards, she was enraged. “Jada, I love you – G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see ya!” he said, referring to Demi Moore’s 1997 film G.I. Jane, in which she shaved her head. “That was a great one!” Rock sought to justify his joke. However, as previously reported, Will Smith walked up to the platform and whacked Rock across the face in front of the entire crowd. After his inappropriate joke, he begged him to keep Pinkett Smith’s name out of his mouth.
Pinkett Smith has been outspoken about her experience with the autoimmune illness alopecia areata, which causes hair loss. Alopecia areata is a common autoimmune condition that frequently leads to unexplained hair loss. It affects around 6.8 million people in the United States. The 50-year-old actress discussed her issue during an edition of the Red Table Talk show in 2018. The show’s host, Pinkett Smith, stated that when it first started, it was horrifying. She was in the shower one day with just a handful of hair in her hands and thought to herself, is she getting bald? She expressed that it was one of those occasions in her life when she genuinely shook with horror. That’s why she chopped her hair, and continued doing it.
She shared a video on Instagram of herself with bald spots on her head. She mentioned at this point she could only laugh while running her finger across the bald line in the centre of her head. You all know she has been dealing with alopecia. She joked “one day, look at this line right here. Take a look. So it simply showed up like that, and this is going to be a little bit harder for me to hide. So I figured I’d simply post it so no one asks any questions.” Pinkett Smith intended to approach the disease with positivity. “But you know mama’s going to throw you in jail,” she expressed in the video. “But you know Mama’s going to add some rhinestones. I’m going to create myself a little crown. That’s exactly what Mama is going to do.”

Will Smith issued a public apology to Chris Rock in an Instagram message. He said that his conduct at the Academy Awards last night was both terrible and unforgivable.
