Two years ago, Indiana State Police trooper Tod Durnil pulled over Rodney Gibson for speeding on a highway. Gibson was upset, but not because the officer had pulled him over; he had just heard the news that his daughter’s breast cancer had returned, and that she was dying. He didn’t even realize he was speeding… he was just trying to get back to his daughter.
When Gibson told the trooper about his daughter, the officer decided not to give him a ticket or even a warning. Then the officer asked Gibson if there was anything he could do. So he asked the officer if he knew how to pray. And there, off the side of the road, the two prayed for Gibson’s daughter.
