Michael Strahan Fought For Twin Daughters For Over A Decade After Divorce: ‘Toughest Things I’ve Ever Gone Through’

As a television personality and journalist, Michael Strahan has effectively ascended the celebrity and riches ladder. Prior to his entertainment career, he was a professional football player with the New York Giants of the National Football League.

Strahan has observed many happy occasions in his existence, but like any other individual, he has also battled with stressful circumstances, notably in his love life.

The “Good Morning America” co-anchor has had a string of bad luck with his love relationships. He has tied the knot twice, but unhappily, both marriages have ended as disasters.

Strahan’s first marriage lasted from 1992 to 1996 to Wanda Hutchins, and his second marriage to Jean Muggli lasted seven years, from 1999 to 2006. Over the years, the former NFL player has spoken honestly about how tough his divorces were. Strahan admitted in a 2016 interview that d ivorce was definitely one of the most difficult things he has ever gone through, but it was also a learning experience, and he learned a lot about himself.

The journalist went on to say that his divorces taught him that he was a strong guy. According to Strahan, he gathered courage to cope with the trials of his parenting.

The father of four realized he had to be strong for his vulnerable children, and despite the terrifying event, he constantly murmured encouraging things to himself.

Reflecting closely at all that had transpired, especially his kids, Strahan said that his positivism paid off, noting that it was one of the most gratifying moments of his life.

Strahan has gone through two unsuccessful marriages, but his second divorce will always be remembered for how horrible it was.

The former professional football player was defeated in a fight with Jean Muggli in 2006. After the divorce was finalized, the judge ordered Strahan to pay his ex-wife a hefty $15.3 million. Muggli also received $18,000 a month in child support from the entertainment icon in addition to the large figure.

She was also granted primary custody of their two girls, while Strahan was only allowed visiting privileges. It was a difficult period, particularly for the TV celebrity, but things were only about to get worse.

In September 2019, years after the couple finalized their divorce, Muggli filed a lawsuit in New York, asking a raise in the monthly child support. While the matter was still pending in court, Strahan made additional charges about his ex-wife.

According to reports, the former couple had originally decided to engage a parenting coordinator. But, Strahan alleged that Muggli was purposefully doing things to raise the PC’s participation, hence creating a rise in the PC’s expenses.

For instance, the anchor said that Muggli reneged on their intention to enroll their adolescent twin girls at a North Carolina school, prompting the PC to interfere.

Strahan further stated that his ex-wife was “uncooperative in organizing his visitation” with his children, forcing the PC to make the arrangements herself. Their co-parenting had become “time-consuming, conflict-filled, and unachievable,” according to the PC.

Strahan wished that the court would intervene and mandate a 50-50 share of the PC’s fees, which may alleviate the stated difficulties.

However, in 2020, the anchor determined that it was better for him to be granted primary custody of his daughters. So, he opposed the prior custody agreements since Muggli was physically and emotionally abusing their girls. But, in October 2020, the action was dropped with prejudice, as the ex-couple signed a joint child custody arrangement.

Almost two years after the custody arrangement, Strahan is savoring his time with his kids, as he did not allow the dispute to damage his connection with them.

Strahan is appreciative for having access to his girls, and regardless of his hectic schedule, he always makes time for them.

Whenever they were in school, he would go down to North Carolina to see them; whenever they were on vacation, they would fly down to New York to be with him.

Strahan believes his kids had a different upbringing than he did; nonetheless, the love is no different. However, the journalist’s twin daughters, Isabella and Sophia, make their father prouder by the day.

Isabella debuted as a model in April 2022, walking the catwalk for Sherri Hill’s Bridal and Evening Fashion Show. It was a special occasion for the little beauty and her adoring father.

After being in the headlines multiple times owing to his personal involvements, Strahan has opted to keep his love life away from the public view. He has done the public relationship, and it doesn’t work, according to the star.

Strahan claims that he is a quiet person away from the spotlight, and that the intense scrutiny makes him feel humiliated and awkward. But of how secret the anchor wishes his love life to be, there is no denying that he is dating Model Kayla Quick.

The lovebirds have supposedly been together since 2015 and keep getting stronger by the day. Reports have also indicated that Quick enjoys a tight relationship with her boyfriend’s kids.

Fans are overjoyed to see Strahan in such a good mood after all he has been through. Hopefully, his and Quick’s love will last a long time.
