Mother Defies All Odds And Gave Birth To Quadruplets.

Katie and Charlie had long talked about having a big family, and they were off to a good start with their 1-year-old daughter, Molly. But they sure didn’t expect the big news from 37-year-old Katie’s doctor after she got pregnant again. She was carrying quadruplets.

Katie and Charlie would certainly have a big family all at once. Their dreams were coming true… fast. The couple was extremely excited, but, of course, there were some concerns. The more babies inside her, the more medical issues there might be. There was an increased rate of abnormalities and stillbirth, and that’s something the couple didn’t even want to think about. A C-section was scheduled for Katie at 34 weeks at a San Diego Hospital. Until then, she was concerned and had a lot of questions.

Says Katie before the delivery: “How sick are they gonna be? What sort of surgeries might they need? How long will they be in the NICU? Having four babies and potentially four very sick babies? You hope and pray for the best, certainly. But to be a realist – it might not all be as beautiful and wonderful as you hope.”

Then, the big day came. First, there was a boy, named Charlie. He weighed 4 pounds, 1 ounce. Then, there was a girl, named Claire. She weighed 4 pounds, 2 ounces. After that, another boy, named Henry. He weighed 3 pounds, 2 ounces. And finally, another boy, named Dillon. And he weighed 3 pounds, 8 ounces.

Both Charlie and Katie were thrilled at the sight of their little babies. But just how were they healthwise? They were all just fine, just tiny, and were able to be taken home within a month.

The next year, Charlie and Katie added to their family a set of twins, Gus and Hannah. And in a span of three years, they had that big family they had always wanted, with seven very young children.
