‘My Whole Life Is Getting Destroyed’: Will Smith Says He Had A Vision Of His Career ‘Going Away’ Years Before Oscars Slap

After consuming hallucinogenic tea years before marching on stage and slapping comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, Will Smith says he had a vision of his profession “going gone” and his “entire life” being wrecked.

During the Netflix series “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” presenter David Letterman spoke with Smith about his two-year break from performing. Smith, 53, admitted to drinking the psychedelic beverage ayahuasca, which he described as “the absolute most terrible psychological event of my life.”

The dream happened years before the “Men in Black” actor shocked Rock at the 94th Academy Awards when he joked about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head during her hair loss battle.

Smith explained in the pre-recorded interview that all of a sudden, it’s like all of his money is flying away. And his house is taking off. And his profession is ending.

He continued, and he is trying to grasp for his money and his profession. His entire existence is being ruined.

At the time, the “King Richard” star acknowledged it was his greatest dread. During the dream, he began to hear an angry voice shouting at him.

But then he said he heard his 21-year-old daughter Willow screaming for assistance and begging why “won’t he help her,” and his entire view shifted.

Smith explained, he gradually stopped worrying about his money. All he wanted was to go to Willow. He stopped worrying about his house and his job.

He remarked that he still hears Willow screaming, claiming that he was starting to “calm down” even as the money flew away. And he is quite cool, despite the fact that hell is going on in his thoughts.

Smith concluded that when he got out of it, he learned that he can manage anything that happened in his life. He can face any person he loses, everything that goes wrong in his life, and anything that happens in his marriage. He is ready for whatever this life has in store for him.

Smith apologized after the Oscar event, and the Academy later barred him from attending the annual awards show for ten years.
