NFL Player Quits Football After Making $25M, Then People Discover What He Did With His Money.

A former football player who was the highest-paid center in the NFL gave up his rich profession to feed the hungry (video below).

In 2009, the St. Louis Rams signed Jason Brown to a three-year, $37.5 million deal. He was taken 124th overall in 2005 and played nine seasons in the NFL until being released by the Rams in 2012.

Brown had made more than $25 million from the deal five years later, at the age of 29. His career was far from done, and he was being courted by multiple clubs, including the Baltimore Ravens. His agent warned him about making the worst mistake of his life, Brown told. And he looked him in the eyes, and Brown disagreed.

His major duty now is to raise sweet potatoes and other vegetables for the less fortunate. 46,000 pounds of sweet potatoes and 10,000 pounds of cucumbers have been given by the former NFL great.

Brown attended the University of North Carolina yet knew nothing about agriculture. He learned how to handle his 1,000-acre farm by studying crop-growing videos on YouTube.

First Fruit Farm’s aim is to contribute the first fruits of each crop to food pantries that serve the poor.

Despite the protestations of everybody around him, he left it all to become a farmer in Louisburg, North Carolina.
