Officer Carried The Mother And Her Baby To Safety.

Hurricane Harvey has been devastating many lives have been lost and countless people have lost everything they owned but in this terribly dark time some moments of light still shine. Here are some of those moments.

1. Houston SWAT Officer Daryl Hudeck carries a mother and her 13-month-old son from their flooded home.

2. As floodwaters continued to rise, Alexendre Jorge evacuates Ethan Colman, 4, from a neighborhood inundated by floodwaters from Hurricane Harvey.

3. Even a huge carp that had somehow found dry land was put back into his home.

4. Beer giant Anheuser-Busch stopped its normal production to produce cans of drinking water for the flood victims.

5. A mattress store owner opened his doors to make a very comfortable makeshift shelter for some 400 homeless victims.

6. A fleet of monster trucks came through and helped many who were stranded…even pulling out a stuck Army SUV.

7. Some even took chances with their own survival by rescuing pets and animals, including deer, a leopard, dogs, snakes, turtles and even a gecko.

9. A Texas deputy rescued two young children from their flooded home.

10. The staff from a Pizza Hut chain used kayaks and braved the floodwaters to deliver free pizzas to needy families.

11. Some bakers who were trapped in their shop by the floodwaters made hundreds of loaves of bread to be taken to victims. Those bakers, by the way, were Mexicans.

12. Lucky the dog was found tied to a pole as floodwaters were rising.

But a photographer going through the area spotted him and saved him.

13. Three brothers pulled their money together to quickly buy a 5-ton truck to rescue their neighbors.

14. The Amazing Spider Man made a special visit to one of the shelters in Houston. And with all the kids’ smiles… it truly was amazing.

15. Michael and Susan Dell, who own the Dell Computers company, have pledged $36 million to relief efforts.

16. Otis the dog, his photo having gone viral of him carrying a bag of dog food, managed to find his way back home… with a bag of dog food.

17. A man put on a vest to rescue a small kitten that had been trying to keep dry under the hood of a car.

18. This photo shows an exhausted Texas deputy, who had just worked more than 12 hours through the night rescuing scores of people until he just couldn’t stand any more.
