Olivia Newton-John Doesn’t Know How Long She Has Left, But Feels Lucky She’s “Still Here” Amidst THIRD Cancer Battle.

Battling cancer is not easy. But staying positive during this tough time can be possible. Focus on the good and ignore the bad. Enjoy every moment.

Olivia Newton-John’s radiant smile is proof to the strength she has even when diagnosed with cancer for the third time. She feels everyday is a ‘gift’ since she has been fighting a battle with stage 4 cancer. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992. Doctors found cancer in her shoulder after a car accident in 2013. Her third battle against cancer has been on her back with a tumor at the base of her spine.

Olivia, 73, is not interested in how long she would live.

In her words, “When you’re given a cancer diagnosis or a scary honest diagnosis, you’re suddenly given a possibility of a time limit. If somebody tells you, you have six months to live, very possibly you will because you believe that. So for me, psychologically, it’s better not to have any idea of what they expect, or what the last person that has what you have lived, so I don’t tune in.”

Through the hardships she has gone through she is still full of positivity. She feels she is blessed even though she has been diagnosed with cancer many times and she is still alive. She is still breathing. For her, everyday is the best gift.

She expressed like every human she too has her worries and doubts however she chooses to have a positive attitude to make her world positive too. As she believes if your thoughts are negative then your world would be negative too.

On her 70th birthday she was in the hospital for her radiation treatment and in the hospital itself had a small dinner with her loved ones. Even though she planned a lot of things to do for her birthday, she felt this was what God planned.

During that time, Olivia was being taken care of at the hospital named in her honor, the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Australia. She never felt why it was her. Instead she felt great she was in the hospital that she dreamt of building for people to take rest and care and there she too got the best care. She felt blessed and magical.

Her bones were weakened due to cancer and to heal her fractured pelvis it took six months. Her strength was brought back slowly step by step first on a walker, then a cane and then finally nothing at all.

In her words, “I had to learn to walk again and all these things but I’m strong and I’m back and I’m feeling good and loving every minute.”

However the headlines that were far from truth stating she was “clinging on to life or was on her deathbed” did make her upset as it was not true at all.

Olivia also accepted that the path to cancer isn’t always filled with wonderful, successful moments. There are times when she wept, upset and irritated too. But she could go through all this since she had an amazing husband John Easterling who supported her always.

She is grateful forever for the constant encouragement and love bestowed on her by her husband and her daughter Chloe Lattanzi.

In her words,”I have the best husband in the world and the best daughter. I’m lucky.”

Olivia believes that one thing that helped her relieve her pain was the use of cannabis oil. When she does not use it she feels the pain so she knows it’s working for her.

Being positive is what helped her sail through the journey. She strongly believed that you make your life the way you want it. If you are positive, your body, mind and life turn in a positive manner. She understands that we all have our ups and downs but to have faith that everything will be fine is important. Nobody knows how long our life is. It’s all a mystery that cannot be solved. Life is a beautiful gift to be thankful for each day.
