She uploaded an image of herself sitting with her husband John on social media only days before her death. ‘#flashbackfriday,’ it was captioned.

Delta Goodrem, an Australian singer, was among the first to remark on the article. ‘So lovely,’ she wrote.

Fans also left heartfelt notes for the actress, assuring her they were praying for her.

One fan replied, ‘I’m sending you wishes for ongoing good health.’ ‘I’ll remember you in my prayers.’ ‘Light and love.’

‘Thinking of you, Olivia,’ remarked another. ‘Love and light from the south of France.’

John Travolta, Olivia’s co-star in Grease, the 1978 film that launched her profession, was among the first to pay homage to her after her passing on Monday.

‘My precious Olivia, you brightened all of our lives. Your influence was enormous. I adore you to pieces. We’ll see you later, and we’ll all be together again.’ Yours from the first time I saw you to the end of time! ‘Your Danny, your John!’ he said on Instagram.

Rather than flowers, the family requested that donations be directed to her cancer foundation, the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund.

Her 36-year-old daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, and her siblings survive her.

He refused to reveal the reason of her death.

Three days ago, Chloe paid a heartfelt homage to her mom on Instagram. ‘I adore this gal. My mother. My best buddy,’ she explained.

The actress notably defeated breast cancer twice before being diagnosed with it again in 2017.

It’s been a part of her life for so long, she said of the sickness in a disturbing interview in 2020. Something didn’t feel right. It’s scary when it comes back, but she tells herself, “she’ll get through it again.”

She had and is enjoying a great life, therefore she has no complaints, she stated in earlier interviews when asked how she fought the sickness so valiantly.

She honestly doesn’t. Everybody experiences something. We all have to go through something in one’s lives. This has been her task.

Newton-John was born in England to an MI5 agent and relocated to Melbourne, Australia, when she was six years old. As a teenager, she went to the UK to seek a singing career, and she competed in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974.

Four years later, she got her big break in Grease. She notoriously refused the role, first turning down producer Allan Carr since she felt she was too old for it.

When the film was released, it became an instant international smash, and she became a global sex icon.

Newton-John justified her sweet-to-sexy transformation for years, even as she faced backlash during the #MeToo movement.

‘It’s a film. It’s a story from the 1950s, when everything was different. Everyone forgets that, in the end, he also transforms for her.

‘There’s nothing profound about the #MeToo movement. It’s just a female who likes a guy and believes that if she does this, he would like her.

‘And he believes that if he does that, she would like him.’ That appears to be true. People do this for one another. It was a charming love story.’

Riding the popularity of Grease, she hammered up her newfound sex icon reputation with Physical, her most successful album and song, which was released in 1981.

It was devoted to her first husband, Matt Lattanzi, with whom she was wedded from 1984 until 1995.

Newton-acting John’s profession suffered after Grease. In 1980, she co-starred with Lattanzi in the film Xanadu, which bombed at the box office.

She took three years off work after the birth of her daughter in 1986, then was diagnosed with her first cancer diagnosis at the age of 44 in 1992.
