Oprah blasted for defending Meghan, Prince Harry: ‘She started this’

Oprah Winfrey is under fire for saying that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might reconcile with the royal family during the period of grief for Queen Elizabeth II, who died last week.

On Monday, Winfrey spoke out to “Extra” about her BFF Markle, 41, and her husband, Harry, 37, particularly about their tough relationship with his father, King Charles III, brother Prince William, and sister-in-law Kate Middleton.

This is what she believe: she believe that in all families — like in her family, her father passed away recently, this summer and when all families come together for a shared ceremony, the ritual of, burying one’s dead, there is a chance for peacemaking, the “The Color Purple” actress added.

Perhaps, there will be that, she added.

Social media users chastised the 68-year-old television personality for her remarks regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s troubled relationship with the next monarch and Prince of Wales.

”Oprah discusses ‘burying the dead,’ hoping that it may help Prince Harry and Meghan ‘make peace’ with the royals. ‘She’s priceless, isn’t she?” one commenter said. “She never questioned a word [Harry and Meghan] uttered… She describes herself as a serious talk show host.”

“Oprah forgets she began this,” said another. Perhaps an apology might aid in peacemaking.”

“Hey @Oprah, if you really cared about that family, you wouldn’t have given them a platform to bash the RF family.” Their rage grew as a result of your interview. So quit talking nonsense,” someone another criticized the TV producer.

The “Oprah Winfrey Show” anchor reportedly interviewed Harry and Markle at their California home in March, in a bombshell tell-all. During the interview, Markle discussed her suicidal thoughts, alleged racism inside the Firm, and other topics.

Winfrey’s remarks came after the Invictus Games creator and former “Suits” star reconnected with Prince William and Kate Middleton for a walkabout outside Windsor Castle to honor the late king.

According to a source, William, 40, issued the offer to the estranged couple.

They’re all really appreciative – both sides putting everything aside for the queen, remarked one insider.

The monarch died on September 8 at the age of 96, and her funeral is scheduled on September 19. It is uncertain whether or not Markle or Prince Harry will attend the services.
