Paul McCartney plays video of friend Johnny Depp at Seattle concert.

During a recent concert in Seattle, Sir Paul McCartney presented a video of Johnny Depp joining him on guitar, despite the actor’s current defamation trial against Amber Heard.

The former Beatle and Depp are said to be close friends and lifelong collaborators, with Depp appearing in numerous of McCartney’s music videos.

McCartney is seen singing his song “My Valentine” in front of a black-and-white video of Depp playing the guitar and delivering the song’s lyrics in sign language in footage released on Instagram on Tuesday (3 May) by philanthropist and former model Jill Vedder.

The film is from the original music video for the song, which also stars Natalie Portman and has been featured in McCartney’s concerts for almost a decade.

“Might be problematic to release this video with JD,” Vedder captioned the video. I don’t mind. I just know him as a gentleman… And, while I support women and the “me too” movement, I know some women who have ruined the lives of innocent and nice men… @johnnydepp… PS: Verbal abuse is also not acceptable; keep your mouth shut.”

The trial between Depp and his ex-wife Heard began on April 11 in Fairfax, Virginia, after his March 2019 complaint.

Depp is demanding $50 million in damages after Heard alleged in an op-ed in the Washington Post in 2018 that she was a survivor of domestic violence. While she did not identify Depp in the article, his attorneys claim it was supposed to be about him and harmed his profession. Depp was countersued for $100 million.
