Police say ‘someone knows’ what happened to missing teen Kiely Rodni but is ‘not coming forward’

Cops think somebody has knowledge about what occurred to Kiely Rodni, and they are begging them to come forward and assist the cops. The 16-year-old has been missing since August 6, when she was last seen after midnight at the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee, where she had gone to an end-of-the-year party. Cops in Northern California are now looking through a massive archive of video material acquired from businesses, surveillance cameras, and Ring home security systems.

Officials suspect that “somebody knows” what transpired to the missing adolescent. Captain Sam Brown of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office made the statement during a press conference on Wednesday. They suspect somebody is aware. Somebody saw her, but they’re not coming forward, Brown explained. Cops were notified of her absence the next morning after she failed to show up for a planned trek with pals, and the matter is presently being investigated as a kidnapping.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, over 50 FBI agents, cadaver dogs, helicopters, search-and-rescue divers, and helicopter sweeps, as well as volunteers, have been called in to help find the girl, but no evidence about Rodni has been obtained. They have no fresh leads, and that is incredibly aggravating for them, Josh Barnhart of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said during the meeting. Rodni was seen wearing Dickies jeans and a black tank top the last time they saw her. She has multiple piercings, a nose ring, is 5’7″ tall, weighs 115 pounds, and has blonde hair and hazel eyes. The adolescent’s vehicle is a 2013 silver Honda SUV with a California registration plate No 8YUR127 is also missing.

Samantha Smith, 18, is the last individual known to have communicated with Rodni. On Saturday, they chatted on the phone after midnight. “She contacted her at 12:36 a.m… and this was the last time anyone spoke with her. ‘Love you, good night,’ they said. Get home safe,’ she said, and that was the last they heard from her, Smith recalled on Monday.

Rodni, according to Smith, was plainly inebriated and unfit to drive home. Smith explained that they had both arranged for a trip home rather early in the evening. Currently, they feel it is a kidnapping case as she was in no condition to drive and would not have made it far or would have wrecked, Smith explained.

The officials have established an anonymous tip line to help in the hunt. Anyone with information regarding Kiely Rodni’s whereabouts is asked to call 530-581-6320 and choose option 7. Callers might choose to stay anonymous. You may also call the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s 24-hour hotline at 1-800-843-5678 if you have any information on Rodni.
