Rachel Riley says she ‘wouldn’t wish’ Johnny Depp on her ‘worst enemy’

Rachel Riley, a British TV personality, came to support Amber Heard in her continuing legal struggle with her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.

Riley, who appears on the British show “Countdown,” tweeted a Twitter thread documenting Depp’s “problematic background,” which included some of the disparaging messages the actor wrote about his ex-wife that were revealed during their defamation lawsuit.

Riley remarked on Twitter, “I wouldn’t wish this person on my worst enemy.”

It also referenced his acquaintance with Marylin Manson, who was accused of physical and sexual assault in early 2021 by ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood and numerous other women, which he has rejected.

The Twitter thread also asserted that ‘Johnny groomed Winona Rider when she was 17 and he was approaching 30’ and that the actor had a “history of homophobia,” albeit there is no proof to back up these accusations.

Rachel then posted another tweet from domestic violence researcher Emma Katz, which contained a link to an article titled ‘The Myth of Mutual Abuse’ from the National Domestic Violence Hotline in the United States.

‘Many times, we engage with survivors of abuse who wish to address issues they have about their own conduct,’ the post added. They frequently state that their relationship is mutually abusive, a term used to describe a relationship in which both parties are abusive to one another.

‘Abuse is characterized by an imbalance of power and control.

‘In an unhealthy or abusive relationship, both/all parties may exhibit problematic habits, but in an abusive relationship, one individual tends to have more control than the other.’

Rachel’s repost of @arkhamcitysiren’s thread on Johnny’s supposed history received 1,107 likes, with varied replies in the comments.

‘You are extremely courageous to publish this – I see the baying crowd of Depp obsessives and plain old misogynists have already started,’ one person said of the broadcaster. ‘I appreciate you speaking up.’

However, not everyone was in agreement. ‘Have you looked through the facts or really watched the trial?’ questioned another. Johnny is no angel, but Amber appears to be the abuser in this situation.’

‘While his alleged crimes cannot be condoned, I can’t believe you’re side somebody who has been recorded confessing to domestically abusing someone,’ another user said.

Depp is suing Heard, alleging that she harmed his profession by implying he physically mistreated her in a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post. Heard is counter-suing, saying that Depp abused her ten times throughout their relationship.

Fans of Depp have taken over Twitter and TikTok, tweeting memes and jokes about attorneys’ queries in an effort to cleanse Depp’s name of abuse allegations.

Meanwhile, TikTok trends ridiculing Heard’s testimony have gone viral, causing domestic violence specialists to fear a chilling effect that would prevent survivors from speaking their tales in the future.

As the trial unfolds in court and on social media, several celebrities have shown their support for Heard. Among the noteworthy personalities who have publicly shown support for Heard are Kathy Griffin and Julia Fox.

Exes and past co-stars alike, including Winona Ryder, Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz, and Vanessa Paradis, have publicly backed Depp.
