Renowned Canadian News Anchor Fired After 35 Yrs Of Work For Letting Her Hair Go Gray.

One of Canada’s top news companies is under fire for reportedly terminating long-time news anchor Lisa LaFlamme for allowing her hair to go gray. LaFlamme turned to Twitter to inform her firing from CTV National News, one of Canada’s most-watched news shows.

LaFlamme confesses to being “surprised” by the result and goes on to explain why she believes she was let go.

LaFlamme revealed that she is still stunned and heartbroken. She still expected to have a lot more time at 58 to share more of the tales that affect everyday lives.

Since 2011, LaFlamme has hosted the show.

During the health crisis, she, like many other women, stopped coloring her hair, opting to let her natural gray grow in. She subsequently informed the show’s viewers that she wished she had done it years sooner.

According to reports, Michael Melling, a CTV News executive, “asked who had authorized the decision to ‘let Lisa’s hair grow grey.’ Melling and LaFlamme are also said to have differed on issues of journalism and news reporting.

LaFlamme has worked with the network for 35 years and has won the Canadian Screen Awards for outstanding news anchor. Viewers around the country were taken aback by her dismissal, and other business leaders in the country joined the conversation over the apparent situation behind her dismissal.

Arlene Dickinson, an investor, had welcomed LaFlamme’s intention to mature elegantly on national television, saying everything was going well until the folks at CTV took their feminine ageism to work.

CTV’s parent company, Bell Media, only stated that the choice to eliminate LaFlamme was premised on changing audience trends.

CTV executives have flatly denied LaFlamme’s accusations.

Vice President Karine Moses stated during a business town hall that she is a woman. She has been working here for 25 years. Does one honestly believe she’d terminate a lady just because she’s a woman?

Amanda Watson, a sociologist, stated, ‘like many of them, she is both stunned and unsurprised. She has a feeling that losing her job because she turned grey isn’t what occurred. And yet, she has a feeling that’s exactly what occurred. When she looks in the mirror these days, she wonders why she is coloring her hair. She is not required to. She works as a professor.’
