Son Shares His Story Of Being Raised By Dad Suffering From Down Syndrome.

Much has been written and told about children who have Down Syndrome, and the challenges they face. But very seldom does anyone read or hear about any of those children all grown up with children of their own. Few people think about that. But the truth is that those with Down Syndrome DO grow up and lead happy lives of their own, and have families that they love and cherish.

Sader Issa studies dentistry in Syria. And he was raised by his dad, Jad, who has Down Syndrome. While growing up, Sader’s dad showed him a great deal of love and he did his best to give him a wonderful childhood.

Sader said his dad raised him right and taught him well, almost to the point where many other parents might be envious of him.

Says Sader: “I’m proud of my father. Throughout my life he has been the greatest support for me when I needed it.”

And here’s something else Sader loves about his dad; the fact that the entire community loves him for expressing his love for others without expecting anything at all in return. He is just a kind, good-hearted man, and he just wants to be accepted like everyone else. Sader said his dad often goes around telling others how proud HE is of his son, the doctor.

Says Sader: “It’s possible to see when his eyes are filled with joy and satisfaction as if to express: yes, I have Down syndrome, but I raised this man and did everything in my power to make him become a doctor and help others.”

But the biggest thing Sader wants others to know is that his dad and those with Down Syndrome are capable of true love and have really big hearts.
