Texas Mom Allegedly Was Texting, Then Fell Asleep While Unattended 1-Year-Old Drowned in Bathtub

Texas officials have detained the kid’s 21-year-old mom more than five months after her 1-year-old drowned in a bathtub.

According to online court documents, Victoria Tristan was convicted last week with child injury, a first-degree crime.

The solitary criminal charge derives from her child’s death on January 18, which was judged an accident by medical examiners.

Authorities have not revealed the child’s gender.

Tristan is convicted of leaving the infant unsupervised in the bathtub at her Round Rock residence, according to an affidavit.

According to the complaint, Tristan fell asleep after sitting on her bed and messaging the family.

It is estimated that she slept for roughly 10 minutes.

She ran to the bathroom after waking up to discover the toddler drowned in the overflowing tub.

She reportedly informed authorities that she tried CPR on the youngster but that he remained lifeless.

Investigators found mobile phone data that revealed Tristan chatted for five minutes before there was an eight-minute pause in activity.

Tristan apparently spent four minutes searching YouTube before dialling 911.

Tristan is still being held. Her bond, plea, and lawyer information were not available Monday.
