Texas Mom Who Ran Into Robb Elementary School To Save Her Kids From Shooter Speaks Out

As gunfire broke out within Robb Elementary School, cops opted to stay outside for 77 minutes, doing nothing to help the kids who were trapped inside. Officers were forced to forcibly detain parents who begged them to let them in. However, a mother was able to get past the cops and inside to rescue her own children.

Angeli Gómez is a Uvalde mother and farmworker. When she reached, cops were already on the scene. She, like the other parents, was perplexed and pleaded with them to let them in. Obeying orders from their commanding officer, they declined and instead utilised their attempts to keep parents at bay.

Gómez was able to slip by the cops and enter. She is now talking about what occurred that day. Gómez claims she had just returned from her children’s graduation ceremony at the school. She had returned to work when she learned of the shooting. She drove 40 miles back to the campus and spotted cops waiting for her.

She explained that as soon as she parked her car, US marshals began approaching it, stating she wasn’t supposed to be parked there. He said, they’re going to have to arrest her because she is being extremely unhelpful. To which she replied, ‘Well, you’re going to have to arrest me since I’m going in there, and I’m telling you right now – I don’t see any of you in there.

She told one of the cops that she does not need them to guard her. She further added that they should keep their distance from her. She is not in need of their protection. If anything, she needs them to accompany her to safeguard her children.

The US Marshals service informed The Wall Street Journal that they did not shackle parents, although Gomez claims she was temporarily handcuffed. She dashed into the building as soon as the cuffs were removed. There was not a single police presence in the building when she entered. Shots were still being fired.

Gómez walked to each of her boys’ classes, gathered them, and hurried out of the school with their hands in hers.

While the brave mother is pleased that her two kids are safe, she can’t help but think about the other kids who may have been rescued. she explained, there was nothing being done. If anything, law enforcement were more forceful with the parents who were ready to go in there.

Uvalde mother recounts racing into school during shooting to save sons

Angeli Gomez, the mother of two Robb Elementary School students, was handcuffed by U.S. Marshals after urging officers to enter the school during the shooting. When she was uncuffed, she raced into the school to save her sons — and believes police “could have saved many more lives” that day. https://cbsn.ws/3GGsuJa

Gomez sobbed, they could have spared a lot more lives. They might have gone inside the classroom and lost two or three students, but they could have rescued the entire, more, the entire class. They may have gone through the window and sniped him through the window. Something was being done, yet nothing was being done.

The United States Justice Department is looking into the police reaction to the horrific shooting.
