“House with a Heart Senior Pet Sanctuary” in Gaithersburg, Maryland, is a loving retirement home for elderly dogs. These dogs come from owners who are unable to take care of them or from rescue shelters. Sher Polvinale and her group of volunteers at her home look after these dog with utmost love and care. The most beautiful and difficult part is when the dogs pass away, in their fond memory, they have made an entire wall of their pictures going up the staircase which is why they have named it “The Stairway to Heaven.”
