This Story Will Change The Perception Of A Pitbull.

When it comes to potentially dangerous animals, police officers sometimes have to make quick decisions on how to deal with them. Now, I’ve read horror stories about police officers shooting dogs for absolutely no reason. I honestly find that hard to believe, but, of course, anything is possible. I certainly can’t imagine any good police officer, though, doing such a thing without absolute cause.

In Texarkana, Texas, Officer Travis Frost was dispatched to a neighborhood after someone reported seeing “a vicious” dog walking around. When Officer Frost got there, he spotted the dog. It was a pitbull. But regardless of the breed of dog, the officer exited his patrol car slowly and left the door open just in case he needed to jump back in to protect himself. He watched the animal for a few seconds. Then, he whistled. The dog looked up at him and began trotting over, with tail wagging.

After the officer pet the friendly animal for a minute, it jumped right up into his car’s front seat and made himself at home, hoping for maybe a little more attention.

Officer Frost took pictures of the two together while waiting on an animal control officer to arrive. The dog, later found out to be named Gold, was soon reunited with his owner through a chip that had been implanted.

Says Officer Frost: “Pit Bulls have a bit of a bad reputation. While you should always be careful around any dog that you don’t know, you shouldn’t automatically assume that all pit bulls are bad dogs. They might be really loving, like this guy was….”
