According to accounts, firefighters responded to a terrified 911 call in the early hours of Thursday morning to a building fire at 2903 Jane Lane in Nassau County.
A neighbor called 911 to report the incident, telling the operator she didn’t know whether anybody was inside the house in question.
When firemen arrived, the terrible truth became clear: a mom and her two kids were inside.
Lesley Moore, 40, her 11-year-old daughter Aleah, and her seven-year-old son Wesley were all killed in the fire, according to authorities.
Initially they didn’t know if anybody was inside the facility, but they eventually established they did uncover three bodies, Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper stated.
Mitchell Tanner, Lesley’s uncle, stated, he does not comprehend it. He is confused and hurt. Something isn’t right.”
The bereaved relative wondered how the fire could have started without anybody in the house noticing.
Furthermore, he added that Moore had five dogs in the house and that it didn’t make sense that none of them barked when the fire began.
His niece “loved her kids,” he claimed. They were her everything. Those kids were just starting life.
Sheriff Leeper described Lesley and her kids as being alone inside the house except for the dogs. Lesley’s spouse was away at the time.
