Often the simplest deeds may be deadly. Victoria Strauss, 23, a Florida native and Ohio State University graduate, would never have believed that her attempt to retrieve a credit card that had fallen out of the car would result in her early death.
Strauss was attempting to leave the parking garage at 45 Vine Street in Ohio when the event occurred. She dropped her credit card while attempting to pay her parking fee. Strauss then unlocked her car door and reached out to pick it up, but she had inadvertently accelerated her vehicle. The automobile collided with the payment kiosk, pinning Strauss’s head between the car door and the door frame and killing her instantly.
The heinous crime was caught on surveillance cameras in the garage about 11:37 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2021. The lady’s corpse was located the next day, about 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, when a security guard spotted an unconscious woman at 45 Vine Street and alerted the police. EMS personnel declared her deceased at the site. The police department posted a press notice on Strauss’ death on Facebook.

Her demise has been the subject of an inquiry. The police agency also released data on automobile accidents in the month of January alone. To yet in 2021, Columbus has experienced nine deadly collisions that have resulted in nine fatalities.
The news shocked social media users, who expressed their sympathies to her friends and family. ”This is awful. I’m terribly sorry; may she rest in peace. “I can’t fathom being the mother and family members receiving this news, how sad,” one remarked, while another added, “It’s not that it’s so horrible. It’s much more startling and unbelievable since it might have been avoided. They’re trying to teach us all a lesson.”
The nature of the event stunned several people “I thought I’d heard of every potential catastrophe, but this is fresh to me. And so young! It’s a shame for her family to have to cope with this” a third was added.
Another person criticized the security company for failing to adequately monitor the parking lots. “A better technique for security companies to patrol their garages is needed. I’m very sad this young lady was murdered and not located for several hours. My heart breaks for her family and friends; this might have happened to any of us.”
